Twilight Chamber Music at Rippon Lea

Should Auld Acquaintance….

an evening of music from Scotland and Australia

Scotland and Australia share many connections, and this program brings together engaging music and words from both countries, across a wide range of styles and eras. Icon Vocal Trio – Justine Anderson (soprano), Vivien Hamilton (mezzo-soprano), Jeannie Marsh (alto) – with Robert Chamberlain (piano) will bring you Scottish favourites such as Charlie is my Darlin’, Ye Banks and Braes, poems of Robert Burns; songs and piano works by Scottish composers John Maxwell Geddes, Claire Liddell, Peter Maxwell Davies, William Sweeney; piano solos by Percy Grainger, and fascinating Scots Haiku trios by Melbourne composers. Plus a wee taste of Beethoven’s delightful Scottish folksong settings. An event where you can wear your tartan with pride!
